Jarrad been drilling since his teenage years; working with his Dad and his company Ozdrill. Starting with water bores and over the years broadening his skills to geotechnical and environmental drilling.  Working with various other geotech companies expanded his skills and knowledge. And then going  onto mine-sites to learn more about RC and air control.  Rio Tinto gave Jarrad the opportunity to gain certs, including cert iv medic, in mine site emergency response, snake handling, mental health, D&A and mines rescue.  All this, along with his supervisor experience makes him more than ready to run his own company and be an excellent mentor to our up and coming offsider.

                                  Samantha O'Loughlin

​Sam is a country girl, coming from up the midwest region in farming country.   Her background is farming, truck driving, personal training. Now she's managing director of Western Geotec.   Sam loves all things out doors, nature and wildlife.  And being Mum to her three boys Lucas, Jimmy and Connor and baby girl Billie.

Lucas Butcher

Lucas is Sam's oldest boy.  Starting life in the country and up north. At 16 he went and worked on a cattle station for 2 years and then returned home to step into the family business as an offsider.  
In his spare time Lucas is all about his cars, somewhat of a backyard mechanic.
Lucas is doing exceptionally well offsiding, proving to be a valuable member of the crew and stepping up as the senior offsider to show how it's done.

Chris Medcalf



Chris is a great asset to Western Geotec, with his safety first mindset, over 18 years experience and the right attitude, he's stepping up when we need him and learning the way of geotechnical drilling quickly, previously he has deep hole, raisebore and blast hole drilling experience. 
Fun fact, Chris is also a drummer.

Dane Cody

Dane stepped into offsiding a few years back and instantly loved it.  He's a great fit for Western Geotec with his passion for working hard. Geotech is a new field for him but he's enjoying it and learning quickly.
